The restrained colour range is based on a combination of red (the prevalent colour), blue and gold. The treatment of details demonstrates the perfect taste of the illuminator. He supplements the intricate ornamental patterns with numerous figures of birds (cocks, hoopoes, etc.) and gives the columns' capitals the shape of ox or lion heads. Both the birds and the animal heads, despite their apparent naturalism, have a purely decorative colouring.�Konstnären ger företräde till storskaliga element och design och kolumnerna hos hans khoran är kortare än vanligt. Den begränsade färgpaletten är baserad på en kombination av rött (den dominerande färgen), blått och guld. Behandlingen av detaljer demonstrerar den perfekta smaken hos konstnären. Han kompletterar det invecklade dekorativa mönstret med flera figurer av fåglar (tuppar, härfåglar etc.) och ger kolumnernas kapitäl formen av en oxes eller ett lejons huvud. /mtd-dia-157-m.jpg "The decor of the folio, obviously inspired by Cilician models, bears the mark of the Crimean artist's own manner: the ornamental forms are more generalized than their Cilician counterparts, the use of gold is more sparing, and the background is dark blue. The most remarkable feature of the decor is undoubtedly the treatment of the ornate initial, based on the motif of The Adoration of the Shepherds and composed of the figures of three shepherds, one blowing a pipe, the second carrying a sacrificial lamb, and the third about to perform the rite.�Dekoren hos sidan, uppenbarligen inspirerade av kilikiska modeller, bär den krimiska konstnärens egna märken: de dekorativa formerna är mer generaliserade än kilikiska exemplar, användningen av guld är mer sparsamt och bakgrunden är mörkblå. Det mest anmärkningsvärda draget hos dekoren är utan tvekan behandlingen av den utsmyckade initialen, baserad på motiv av Herdarnas tillbedjan och komponerad av de tre herdarnas figurer, en som blåser en pipa, den andre bärande ett offerlamm och en tredje på väg att utföra en ritual.")

The treatment of the characters is remarkable for the delicately outlined ovals of their faces, without the dark contours typical of the majority of Armenian miniatures. The soft and delicate pictorial treatment is accompanied here by a freedom of figural arrangement and an obvious interest in rendering the visual effect of space and volume.�Inte bara bearbetnigssättet, utan även ansiktstyperna i denna miniatyr är utan tvivel tagna från bysantinsk konst. Behandlingen av karaktärerna är utomordentliga för sin delikat skissade ovala ansiktena, utan de mörka konturerna som är typiska för majoriteten av armeniska miniatyrer. The 1332 Gospels belongs to the small group of Crimean/Armenian manuscripts whose illumination was inspired by the art of the Palaeologan Renaissance.
The miniatures in the manuscript easily fall into two groups representing the work of two different masters, one of them probably being Grigor Sukiasants who is mentioned in the colophon as the scribe of the book.�1332 års Evengeliebok tillhör den lilla gruppen av Krim-armeniska manuskript vilkas målninagr inspirerades av konsten hos Palaeologiska renässansen. Miniatyrerna i gruppen faller enkelt i två grupper, representerade av verket tillhörande två olika mästare, avvilka en var förmodligen Grigor Sukiasants som omnämns i kolofonen som författare till boken.

This especially refers to the round shape of the table (which also occurs in the Rabula Gospels, A.D. 586, Florence, Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, MS107, and in the twelfth- and thirteenth-century Syrian manuscripts). The large ornate cross on the table, represented instead of the usual viands, symbolizes the Sacrifice of Christ.<br>The unorthodox iconography of the miniature determined to a certain extent the treatment of the images and compositional elements: in accordance with the basic principle of ornamental art, the key role is assigned to linear rhythm and colour.�Scenens ikonografi kan spåras till tidigt kristendom, praktiskt taget syriansk och koptiska föregångare. Detta berör speciellt den runda formen hos plattan (som också förekommer i Rabula Evangelierna, år 586, Florens, Florence, Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana, MS107, och i 1100- och 1200-tals syrianska manuskript). Det stora dekorerade korset på platta, istället för det vanliga matvarorna, symboliserar Kristus uppoffring. But the most striking thing about the miniature is its emotion-charged colouring. The dark and gloomy hues give a tragic touch to the picture, while Christ's eyes seem to express serene calm and fortitude.�Sidan är anmärkningsvärd för dess tydliga och eleganta kaligrafi i vilken guldbokstäber och dekorativa initialer är satt mot de strama svarta karaktärerna av unicalskrift och för dess utsökta konstnärliga marginalminiatyrer som är i perfekt harmoni med den marginella utsmyckningsdesignen.
