Tserun belongs to a group of Vaspurakan artists whose work was entirely based on and inspired by the local traditions of book illumination. Tserun had numerous pupils and followers, so that the term "Tserunian style" came to be adopted in specialist literature.�Tserun tillhör en grupp avVaspourakans konstnärer vars verk var helt baserat på och inspirerat av de lokala traditionerna för bokmålning. Tserun hade flera elever och följare, så att begreppet "Tseruniska stilen" kom att antas i speciella litteratur.

In accordance with the opening passages of the Gospel of St. Matthew, the artist begins with the \"genealogy\" of Christ, depicting Christ's ancestors. They are represented in lively and natural postures, the figure of King David seated on his throne being the most striking of all. These representations are incorporated into the text of the Gospels copied in the beautiful yerkatagir handwriting (uncial script with large characters).�Härmande kilikiska traditioner, Avag inkluderade illustrationer i evengelierna som inte bara var den menologiska cyckeln men även alla sekundära och intilliggande episoderna. The 1332 Gospels belongs to the small group of Crimean/Armenian manuscripts whose illumination was inspired by the art of the Palaeologan Renaissance.
The miniatures in the manuscript easily fall into two groups representing the work of two different masters, one of them probably being Grigor Sukiasants who is mentioned in the colophon as the scribe of the book.�1332 års Evengeliebok tillhör den lilla gruppen av Krim-armeniska manuskript vilkas målninagr inspirerades av konsten hos Palaeologiska renässansen. Miniatyrerna i gruppen faller enkelt i två grupper, representerade av verket tillhörande två olika mästare, avvilka en var förmodligen Grigor Sukiasants som omnämns i kolofonen som författare till boken.
