The restrained colour range is based on a combination of red (the prevalent colour), blue and gold. The treatment of details demonstrates the perfect taste of the illuminator. He supplements the intricate ornamental patterns with numerous figures of birds (cocks, hoopoes, etc.) and gives the columns' capitals the shape of ox or lion heads. Both the birds and the animal heads, despite their apparent naturalism, have a purely decorative colouring.�Konstnären ger företräde till storskaliga element och design och kolumnerna hos hans khoran är kortare än vanligt. Den begränsade färgpaletten är baserad på en kombination av rött (den dominerande färgen), blått och guld. Behandlingen av detaljer demonstrerar den perfekta smaken hos konstnären. Han kompletterar det invecklade dekorativa mönstret med flera figurer av fåglar (tuppar, härfåglar etc.) och ger kolumnernas kapitäl formen av en oxes eller ett lejons huvud. Både fåglarnas och djurens huvud, trots deras uppebara naturalism, har en ren dekorativ färgsättning.")

A certain dynamic quality is felt in the figure of St. John bending over the feet of Christ. The network of pink lines in the background resembles the binding of an earlier Tatev manuscript (now in the Etchmiadzin collection), where a similar network forms the background of the two relief-like figures representing Grigor Tatevatsi and John Vorotnetsi.�Det stikta symmetrin hos kompositionen bryts av figurerna av sörjande änglar som sträcker sig utanför scenens ram. En viss dynamisk kvalitet känns igen i figuren S:t Johannes som böjer sig över Kristus fötter. Nätverket av skära linjer i bakgrunden påminner om bindningen av ett tidigare Tatev-manskript (nu i Etchmiadzins samling), där ett liknande nätverk formar bakgrunden hos två reliefliknande figurer, representerande Grigor Tatevatsi och John Vorotnetsi.")

The Virgin is shown as a young peasant woman wearing a bright-coloured dress. With the water jug upon her shoulders, she stares at the archangel in genuine surprise at this sudden appearance. The light and cheerful colouring combines with the gay floral ornamentation in imparting a joyful atmosphere to the scene.�Miniatyren representerar en sällsynt ikonografisk version baserd på apokryfiska källor - Bebådelsen vid brunnen. Jungfrun visas som en ung bondekvinna iklädd en ljusfärgad klänning. Med en vattenkanna på sina axlar, stirrar hon på ärkeängeln med en riktig förvåning för hans plötsiga uppenbarelse. Ljuset och den glada färgsättningen kombinerar med den glada blommiga utsmyckningen i återgivningen av en fröjdfull atmosfär i scenen.")

Tserun had numerous pupils and followers, so that the term "Tserunian style" came to be adopted in specialist literature.�Tserun tillhör en grupp avVaspourakans konstnärer vars verk var helt baserat på och inspirerat av de lokala traditionerna för bokmålning. The figures are arranged almost symmetrically, in a frieze-like fashion, thus forming a well-balanced composition. The animation of the faces, the poses and gestures of the characters suggest that the artist sought to enliven the canonical scheme with details borrowed from real life.�Olik de flesta andra illustrerade miniatyrer i manuskriptet, tar denna scen inte upp en hel sida, utan är placerad under texten, i den nedre delen av sidan. Figurerna är arrangerade nästan symmetriska på ett frisliknande sätt och formar därmed en välbalanserad komposition. The outline of the Cross serves as an important expressive element of the composition.
